Meet Photographer and Designer Kellie Crye Ward
As soon as I could put crayons to paper, my parents knew I’d inherited my grandmother’s artistic gene. She was amazing with the paintbrush and inspired me at a very early age. My sister and I would spend hours in her arts and crafts room sewing, painting, wood-burning – you name it! One of her unique talents was painting scenery and wildlife images on old driftwood, usually found by my grandfather near their home on the Chesapeake Bay.
I picked up my first SLR camera in high school, and quickly developed a love for the art form of photography. Learning to shoot with film forced me to stop, think, and compose before clicking the shutter.
With this upbringing, I decided to pursue art at the University of Tennessee, where I received a Bachelor’s Degree of Fine Art in Graphic Design and a double minor in business and studio art. I’m now in the process of completing a photography certificate program, too.
I have a passion for travel and capturing beauty in the people and things around me. I’ve explored several areas of Europe, Ireland and spent five months working and traveling abroad in Australia, New Zealand and Thailand.
With over six years of experience in design and photography, I’d be happy to help you with your next project including photo sessions, branding and website design.
Enough about me – I would love to hear from you!
